Conformity

I believe that no matter how strange someone might act, there is always another side to it. As I have said, people are almost completely sculpted by everything that might come into contact with them. Conformity is a psychological term for this. Conformity asentualy means the process by which peoples beliefs and/or behaviors are influenced by others within a group, or larger, a whole country. By the way I have never heard of our world being all the same. There are three main ways people can be influenced, first by direct and overt or obvious peer pressure. Second with subtle shocks, being quiet, mild hints of gestures or words. third is influence on an unconscious level. "Conformity is a group dynamic. Numerous factors, such as unanimity, cohesion , status, prior commitment and public opinion all help to determine the level of conformity an individual will reflect towards his or her group.(Social Psychology)" Conformity influences the formation and maintenance of social norms.

People do need to believe in themselves. If they don't, it's just crazy! They need to be who they want to be.

strangely to say i can compeletly understand what your saying. I think theres no such thing as truly "being your self". its insane how peopleexpect one to define them self so easily just like that in one whole. The mind is composed of many differnt things one manily being their enviroment. You should study more about the id, ego, and super ego it might help you explan this a little more.

Do you think comformity is always bad? Can't it help people to better function in a society if they are able to learn from and adapt from those around them. Isn't conforming just another way to say learning? We learn largely by imitation, so ins't this just another way we learn?

well yes its deffinetly a way to learn the stuff around you, but the fact that thats nessecary is whats bad. why cant everyone just be themselves who ever that may be without trying to be somone else
